Here’s how the study works: Read the chapters mentioned in the heading during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for several chapters creates the opportunity to revisit them and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
11:12-13 I told them, “If you think it best, give me my pay; but if not, keep it.” So they paid me thirty pieces of silver. And the Lord said to me, “Throw it to the potter”—the handsome price at which they valued me! So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them to the potter at the house of the Lord.
(From Constable's Commentary) “…was a pittance in view of all that the Shepherd had done for the sheep… To offer him this wage was far worse than simple outward rejection.”
Offering thirty pieces of silver so undervalued what the Shepherd had done it was an insult. Would have been better to have paid nothing that given the impression they had covered the Shepherd's costs.

12:10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.”
Even Israel's repentance comes about as a result of God pouring out a spirit of grace and supplication. God initiates we respond. God is the initiator of so many good things in our lives.

13:1 “On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.”
Standing under a fountain being washed clean of all my sin and impurities that I have picked up from being in the world is a wonderful picture of continuous cleansing – abundant cleansing. This is what God has provided for us in Jesus' death and resurrection.

14:16 “Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles.”
(From Constable's Commentary) “…the Jews in Jesus' day associated the feast of Booths with the beginning of Messiah's kingdom, the same connection that Zechariah made here.”
Peter made this connection when he suggested building three booths on the Mount of Transfiguration. He thought that the Messiah's kingdom was beginning and Jesus was going to commence his rule.
Peter had the right idea but his timing was completely off. Likewise there are times when we do have God's idea on a situation but our timing is off.
