There is only one mention of Junias, in the Bible, but it’s quite insightful: “Greet Andronicus and Junias, my relatives who have been in prison with me. They are outstanding among the apostles and they were in Christ before I was” (Romans 16:7).
Junias was probably the wife of Andronicus. She was not only an apostle but an outstanding one. As far as I can tell she is also the only woman in the Bible recorded as spending time in prison for her faith.
Junias teaches us that the value of the gospel is so great that it’s worth spending times in uncomfortable circumstances, for the sake of Christ.
