Book Review : Thriving as an Artist – part 3
I’ve finished reading Thriving as an artist in the church and it was an interesting read. Though not quite what I was expecting. It is, of course, American and so Rory Noland writes from the perspective of big churches with a large staff. Nevertheless much of what he said was to do with an artist’s attitude and would apply wherever you live.

So what are some of an artist’s attitude worth learning Susan?
The two areas that impacted me were: having a servant attitude, as in the arts are to serve the purpose of the church and not to display the artist’s talents.
Secondly having a humble attitude towards other artists, who may have a completely different focus or different set of priorites to me.
