“He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.” 2 Timothy 1:9
Before time began we were on God’s mind with the purpose of demonstrating his grace. His desire is for us to be recipients of this grace. God never wanted us to earn his grace, after all if we could earn it, it wouldn’t be grace. Rather he wanted us to learn that his nature is to bestow grace.
