“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” John 11:21
How do we respond when God doesn’t answer our prayers the way we want? Do we say to God, “If you had been involved, this would not have happened?” Do we feel disillusioned? Or do we acknowledge he is my heavenly Father and knows best. Recognizing that God is Sovereign is difficult when we want to be in control. Slowly we learn to commit our circumstances to the Lord and say, “Lord I do trust You, help me to trust You more.”
