“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” Romans 12:1
We see true and proper worship in the prodigal son’s response as he approached the Father on his return from a wayward lifestyle, where he prematurely spent his inheritance (Luke 15:11-32). His hope was that he could be a hired servant since he had forfeited his right to sonship. The son recognised his need for mercy and offered himself in his father’s service. This is worship.
