“‘Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.’ Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain …” Revelation 5:5-6
John was told to look for a lion but he saw a lamb. Jesus, the lamb that was slain, now triumphant as the Lion of Judah. The lamb symbolises Jesus’ time on earth when he was gentle with humankind and submissive to his Father’s will. The lion symbolises Jesus today. He’s coming with strength, power and majesty.
