And he [the angel] swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and … the earth … and said, “There will be no more delay!” Revelation 10:6

Ezekiel prophesied Jerusalem’s demise. “The time has come for every prophecy to be fulfilled! … There will be no more delays …” (Ezekiel 12:23-25). Peter explains why God appears to be slow in keeping his promise. “He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). God’s delays demonstrate his patience. However, delays don’t mean he will never act.
