“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.” Philippians 3:13
To forget isn’t to obliterate something from our mind which is arguably impossible. While remembering is recalling the past, forgetting is choosing not to recall the past. If our minds begin to drift toward experiences from our past, we can tell ourselves, “That was then and this is now.” We don’t have to dwell on every thought that pops into our heads. We choose what we think about.
