Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.” (Exodus 4:13)
Moses is polite but unwilling. Following the incident of killing an Egyptian and running away (Exodus 2:11-15), he feels completely unqualified as well as inarticulate (Exodus 6:12, 30). Yet God is determined to use Moses despite his reluctance. God has invested years in Moses, saving him from death as a baby and training him in all the ways of the Egyptians. Yet he still feels inadequate. However, his experiences with God build his confidence, and he becomes a remarkable leader who demonstrates great faith (Hebrews 11:24-28).
