“Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.” Matthew 9:17
New wine needs new wineskins because it’s still fermenting. The wine is expanding as fermenting gases are released. It needs wineskins that are supple and pliable. Jesus looks for people who will be like new wineskins. People who are teachable, who allow God’s new wine within them to grow and expand, empowering them to bring new life to others.
