Jesus was heartbroken by the Pharisees’ conduct. He was concerned about their inner motivation, the Pharisees were obsessive about external behaviour and unconcerned about their own attitude. Jesus taught principals; whereas the Pharisees taught rules and regulations. Jesus measured character; the Pharisees measured religious activity. Jesus was humble; the Pharisees were proud. Let’s make Jesus’ priorities our priorities.
