He told them still another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.” Matthew 13:33
Yeast is often used as a symbol to describe the effects of evil, but in this parable, Jesus changes the figure of speech and says the kingdom of God is like yeast. The Kingdom of God is supposed to work through every aspect of our lives, affecting everything we do, say and think. The kingdom changes our lives and brings growth and spiritual nourishment to others.
