“But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.” Luke 6:30-31
God gives to us without expecting to get anything in return and if we are his children we will also give without expectation. Our expectations may be subtle. Perhaps all we want is an acknowledgement, an expression of gratitude or a warm hug. Yet any time we do something to receive a reward, we lose it.
