“The devil said to him, ‘If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.’
Jesus answered, ‘It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone.’” Luke 4:3-4
If Jesus didn’t have the power to turn stones into bread, it wouldn’t have been a temptation. Jesus restricted himself to only doing what he saw his Father doing (John 5:19). By submitting himself to limitations, Jesus became our Saviour. He also became our example. We don’t put on a show for the benefit of others, rather we go about humbly doing good without attracting attention to ourselves.
