“‘Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’” Luke 15:27

Although the younger brother had squandered all his money, his clothes were in tatters, his reputation ruined and he was starving to death, yet he was “safe and sound.” He lost all his material possessions in his wild living but not his relationship with his father. He still had a father who loved and provided for him and this was enough for him to be “safe and sound.” Our heavenly father is enough for us too.
