“To this they replied, ‘You were steeped in sin at birth; how dare you lecture us!’ And they threw him out.” John 9:34
After Jesus heals a man blind from birth on the Sabbath, the Jewish authorities investigate but they won’t accept the plain evidence in front of their eyes. They stubbornly hold onto their preconceived ideas. They are unteachable. We find the same attitude when Jesus heals a man with a shrivelled hand. Jesus looks “around at them in anger and deeply distressed at their stubborn hearts” (Mark 3:5). Jesus provides all the necessary evidence for belief in him.
