“I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.” John 17:6.
Obedience often feels like an impossible goal in the Christian life but Jesus believes his disciples have obeyed his word. The disciples believe Jesus has come from God and act on the truth they know. They follow him, learn from him and fellowship with him. Yet their faith is a work in progress. God isn’t looking for perfect behaviour but hearts that desire to live a life pleasing to him.
