“When he [the Spirit of truth] comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in me.” John 16:8-9
God’s Spirit will expose the lies the world holds up as truth. The world is wrong in how it defines sin. Sin is more than wrong actions as the Message Bible explains, “their refusal to believe in me is their basic sin.” The world is also wrong about righteousness which comes from God alone and judgment because many refuse to acknowledge the consequences of their actions.
