“I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15
Jesus distinguishes friends from servants, by the information they share. Servants may be loyal and trustworthy but they’re only told what they need to know. Whereas friends freely share their hopes, dreams and motivations. Relationships can be casual, close or intimate. The closeness of the relationship depends on both parties. Jesus invites us into the closest of relationships, but do we want this?
