“Jesus said, …’Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.’” John 12:30-31
While God is ultimately Sovereign over all his creation, as a result of Adam and Eve’s sin, Satan does have some authority in human affairs. Jesus tells us that the cross marks Satan’s defeat. The outpouring of God’s Spirit at Pentecost begins God’s reign on earth. Satan is defeated, even though, we don’t yet see God’s kingdom in all its fullness.
