“You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.” James 2:24
Faith manifests itself in our actions because what we do originates in our attitudes and beliefs. Abraham was made righteous by faith (verses 21-23). If we pander to the rich and ignore the poor (verse 3), it shows we hope to gain something from their wealth and aren’t relying on God to meet our needs. Genuine faith is transformative and leads to actions that are motivated by God’s love. Faith that is only head knowledge is merely information, not Christian faith.
