“Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins.” Hebrews 10:2-3

The Jewish sacrificial system reminded people of their sins, rather than cleansed them, so they still felt guilty. Jesus came so we could be cleansed and “walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4). When we accept Jesus’ sacrifice, His Spirit within us confirms that we are forgiven. “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).
