“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10
We don’t strengthen ourselves, rather we’re empowered by God through his Spirit. This isn’t a one-time event, but rather we constantly look to God for his strength. When Jonathan knew David’s life was in danger, we read, “Jonathan went to David at Horesh and helped him find strength in God” (1 Samuel 23:16). Jonathan didn’t expect to strengthen David himself, rather he reminded David of God’s promises of protection and destiny. Likewise, let’s encourage one another to find strength in God by reminding them of his promises.
