“Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” Acts 4:29-30
The church didn’t pray for protection or release from persecution, instead, they prayed for boldness, for healings and “signs and wonders” to be performed. The church didn’t see persecution as a sign to become a secret society. Rather they saw it as an opportunity to push forward with evangelism and proclaim God’s truth which had the power to change lives and restore people.
