“When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem..” Acts 21:12
Agabus didn’t tell Paul not to go to Jerusalem but predicted he would suffer if he did. Paul felt he should go to address the most serious problem in the church at this time—the growing division between legalistic Jews and believing Gentiles. But, the problem was never solved. Some disagree over whether Paul should’ve gone to Jerusalem. Paul didn’t think persecution was a good enough reason not to go since God had told him, he would suffer for him.
