Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia … They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Acts 15:37-39
Paul and Barnabas just had a major breakthrough in solving the conflict between Gentile believers and Jewish believers but weren’t able to solve this personal conflict over personnel. While this “sharp disagreement” is disappointing, the end result was sending two teams of missionaries and therefore being twice as effective. Conflicts can lead to good outcomes if we seek God’s wisdom.
