“Do your best to come to me quickly.”
“Do your best to get here before winter.” 2 Timothy 4:9, 21
Paul knew his life was coming to an end so he especially wanted to see Timothy one last time. Paul needed the reassuring presence of a close friend. This wasn’t unspiritual, rather Paul was experiencing normal, human emotions. Jesus, too, experienced the physical response of hunger, thirst, tiredness, grief, and even depression (Luke 22:44). No doubt, Paul also wanted to see Timothy for spiritual reasons, to impart his final words. Let’s be a ‘Timothy’ to those in their final days.
