“The Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth.” 2 Timothy 2:24-25
When Paul needed to bring correction, he followed Jesus’ example, “By the humility and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you” (2 Corinthians 10:1). He encourages Timothy to do likewise. In disagreements, we act with humility and gentleness. While not all God’s people are gifted speakers, we can all “gently instruct” in the hope of bringing restoration.
