“If he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard).” 2 Peter 2:7-8
It’s difficult to understand why Lot persisted in living in a place that caused him torment. Nevertheless, God rescued him because of his faith which made him righteous. It wasn’t without cost. He left with nothing. It gives us hope that God can rescue us, if we find ourselves in circumstances or situations beyond our control.
