“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.” 2 Peter 1:5-7
Spiritual growth happens imperceivably, when we cooperate with God. Though it requires our willingness and involvement, which we demonstrate when we engage in Bible reading, prayer, worship, fellowship etc. In Old Testament times, the Israelites showed their love for God by their actions. They kept his commands. Likewise, we show our love for God by cooperating with him.
