“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20
God chooses to woo people in love. Likewise, we implore, we don’t demand, or insist but appeal to people with God’s love. God doesn’t override free will since “love is patient and kind” and “does not demand its own way” (1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NLT). God wants willing followers, not puppets or robots, but those who freely choose to be reconciled to himself. Not those who are coerced by threat or fear of punishment.
