“For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.” 1 Timothy 4:4-5
Paul wrote this in response to people placing bans on people getting married and eating certain foods (v.3). Some people like to measure spiritual maturity and having some well-defined rules enables them to do this, but it doesn’t work. God’s Word and prayer give us the necessary discernment and guidance, not man-made rules. Everything God created is good. Our responsibility is to acknowledge God’s blessings and be grateful.
