“Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands.” 1 Thessalonians 4:11
Leading a quiet life was wise and practical advice. Christians were a persecuted minority in the first-century Roman Empire and Paul didn’t want them attracting attention and endangering the Christian community. It’s also good spiritual advice to pursue peace, not worldly success. If God wants to draw attention to our ministry, he has the ways and means to do so in his time. This doesn’t mean we avoid all media but rather we’re sensitive to God’s leading.
