Christian leaders are to be known for their gentleness, not for their resolve or decisiveness. Paul describes himself as a “nursing mother” who cares for his children (v.7-8). God has always expected his leaders to treat his people with gentleness. Moses complained to the Lord, “Why do you tell me to carry them in my arms, as a nurse carries an infant” (Numbers 11:12). Good leaders comfort and encourage.
