“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve.” 1 Peter 5:2
Leaders are shepherds who care about their flock, not because they are obliged to, but because they love and care about people. They aren’t to pursue dishonest gain, since “the worker deserves his wages” (Luke 10:7). Taking advantage of leaders who are eager to serve, and putting them under financial burdens hinders their work. Blessed them so they can bless you.
