“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,” 1 Peter 1:8
Even in difficult situations God wants us to be joyful, but it takes time to develop this level of trust. It’s belief in his goodness, his compassion and the knowledge that nothing happens without his permission. When we recognise that God has our best interests at heart, its easier to surrender to his claims and allow him to fill us with an inexpressible and glorious joy.
