“But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.” 1 John 3:2-3
If we desire to be pure, “as he is pure,” we acknowledge that we are God’s children (verse 2). Our position isn’t earned, but a right given to us because we believed and received him into our lives (John 1:12). We’re transformed by the renewing of our mind (Romans 12:2). We’re changed into his likeness. Hope purifies us. We will be like him.
