“But not everyone possesses this knowledge. Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat sacrificial food they think of it as having been sacrificed to a god, and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled.” 1 Corinthians 8:7

Paul doesn’t berate people for having a weak conscience. Paul understood some of his readers came from a long tradition of believing that eating food sacrificed to an idol was participating in idol worship. Paul recognised that it takes time to grow in faith and change long-held habits. Like Paul, let’s show patience and grace to others.
