“Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:3
Paul doesn’t mean this statement literally. People can say, ‘Jesus is Lord’ and live an ungodly life. However, a truly spiritual person will be known by their speech. Are they talking in a way that honors God? Are they being respectful, tolerant and kind? We can only live in a way that acknowledges Jesus as Lord if we’re empowered by the Holy Spirit.
