“Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience.” 1 Corinthians 10:25
Paul’s radical solution to the problem of eating meat offered to idols was simple, “Don’t ask!” Believers were to simply partake of meals with thankfulness. Paul’s refusal to ask shows us that it didn’t matter. Paul knew that an idol was nothing so offering meat to it achieved nothing and didn’t affect the meat. Paul’s attitude shows us that he discouraged over-scrupulousness. God doesn’t want us walking around on eggshells trying to keep ourselves pure. Rather we rely on God’s grace which continually purifies us
