Here’s how the study works: Read the chapter mentioned in the heading several times during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for a chapter creates the opportunity to reread it several times and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.

There is no greater name, "King of Kings and Lord of Lords" v.16

"He has condemned the great prostitute who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants" v.2
Sounds like the prostitute represents the evil that caused the death of God's servants, meaning it is not individuals but spiritual forces of evil which caused their deaths. This reminds me of Ephesians 6:12. "Our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers…the authorities…the power of this dark world…the spiritual forces of evil…"

v.8 Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear. (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God's people.)
Interesting that the "fine linen" is "given" it is not something that is naturally ours because of our righteous acts. The fine linen represents righteous acts but is not the acts themselves.
Perhaps meaning all our righteous deeds are not enough to make us clean in the presence of a holy God.

v.6 "sounded like a great multitude…shouting Hallelujah!"
The worship times we have on earth are such a small reflection of heaven.

In v.19 we see the gathering together to make war (as in 16:14-16) but it is over before it begins! The beast and the false prophet are thrown into the fiery lake and the rest are killed with the sword coming from the mouth of the rider on the horse(v.15).
So even though the armies of heaven are following (v.14) it seems that they do not fight which perhaps explains why in ch.16 the the last plague follows the sixth so quickly (v.17).

v.7 For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.
(From Constable Commentary) “Jesus Christ, the Lamb, frequently referred to Himself as a bridegroom (cf. Matt. 9:15; 22:2-14; 25:1-13; Mark 2:19-20; Luke 5:34-35; 14:15-24; John 3:29). For the Jews, the wedding figure stressed the intimate relationship that will exist between God and His people in the earthly messianic kingdom.”

v.12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.
Jesus did not accept the crown that Satan offered him during his temptation (Matthew 4:9) or the crown that people offered him when he was on earth (John 6:15). Now he doesn’t have one crown but many. Likewise we need to wait for God’s full blessing and not grasp at partial blessings.
Also it was believed in those days that knowing a spirit’s name gave you authority over them but no one has authority over Jesus.

v.15 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
“He will rule them with an iron sceptre.” This is what the Pharisees expected of the Messiah but their timing was so wrong! And they would not consider any other possibility though it was prophesied the Messiah would also suffer.
