Here’s how the study works: Read the chapters mentioned in the heading during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for several chapters creates the opportunity to revisit them and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
121:8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
"will watch" = "shall preserve" (NKJV) = "will keep" (AMP)
God will be there for us. He is aware of all our comings and goings and wants to be there to bless us. He watches over us for good to bring us favor.

122:9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your prosperity.
"I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem" (NLT)
David seeks to do his best so Jerusalem and the house of God there will prosper. David seeks/wants the best for God.
God gave his best for us. Therefore our response is to give our best to God.

123:2 As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he shows us his mercy.
Just a look to the slave from their master/mistress is enough for them to know their master/mistress wishes. Long-term faithful slaves don't need explanations, detailed instructions, they just need the slightest signal and they know what is required.
Likewise, we look to the Lord for the slightest sign, and know that he will show us his mercy.

124:2-3 if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us, they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us
If it had not been for God, we would have been destroyed. If God had not intervened, if God was not calling the shots . . . we would be wiped out, we would be in a mess.
If not for God . . .

125:1 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
Faith is the most important commodity not wealth or possessions, but faith in God. It will endure after other things have faded away.
Faith is the one thing that caused Jesus to marvel, either its presence (Roman centurion in Matthew 8) or the lack of it (in his hometown in Mark 6:6).
