Here’s how the study works: Read the chapters mentioned in the heading during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for several chapters creates the opportunity to revisit them and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
116:7 Return to your rest, my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.
The natural state of the soul is to rest in God. The soul can rest because it trust the goodness of God.

117:2 For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord.
God loves us so much and his patience is enormous—beyond human reasonableness. He is forever faithful and forever to be praised. Focus on God's goodness to us – he forgives all my sin, gives me enabling grace, blesses my life with good things and gives me eternal life. When I focus on these things I feel God's joy and peace.

118:23 the LORD has done this, and it is marvellous in our eyes.
The Lord has done this—achieved salvation for man, restored his image, will recreate the earth. It's all about what he is doing in the world.
At the center of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church" (Ephesians 1:20 MSG).

119:18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.
119:32 I run in the path of your commands, for you have broadened my understanding.
119:45 I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.
119:68 You are good, and what you do is good; teach me your decrees.
119:136 Streams of tears flow from my eyes, for your law is not obeyed.
119:165 Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
God's word brings understanding, bring freedom. It teaches me that God is good and only does good. It's tragic when people do not follow God since he brings great peace and security.

120:5 Woe to me that I dwell in Meshek, that I live among the tents of Kedar!
It we surround ourselves with bad influences we are in trouble. What we think on, what we expose ourselves to influences us more than we realize. We need to surround ourselves with those who love peace (see also v. 6-7).
