We’ll never know why you refused to stay
You left without a word, without a note.
No time for tales to share or words to say
that speak of love. No final anecdote
to tell your workplace full of tearful staff.
No further rounds at local wat’ring hole
where plans were made. You loved to joke and laugh
with family and friends – now painfilled souls.
You lost your battle, ours continues still.
We grieve our loss, but you will not return.
We’ll fight for those like you with hidden ills
We’ll take the time for we have much to learn
Your memory will fuel our dream of hope
Together teaching others how to cope.
