Here’s how the study works: Read the chapter mentioned in the heading several times during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for a chapter creates the opportunity to reread it several times and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
Revelations. Reiterations of the end times.
The thing that I found very interesting, to my non trinity mind, is that Jesus said that he does not know the time of his return. Only the Father does.v32

Yes, that is interesting even to my trinity mind! Nate. I would put it down to the fact Jesus laid down his godly attributes in becoming a man.
I also noticed that Jesus says – pray that it will not happen in winter which sounds like God has a plan but it is not set in concrete and our prayers do have an effect.

Yes interesting notes from both of you. God in the flesh not knowing everything …
and the dividing of God into distinct roles … and the instructiion to pray that it will not happen during their winter? in Israel? which is probably not our winter here in Canada.
When I ponder these following scriptures that caught my thoughts up before I read your comments … I’m wondering why it would matter what season it was in …
19 “because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now—and never to be equaled again. If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive.”
But for our sake they will be shortened … at least I’m thinking that is who the elect are…us.
There’s a whole lot of really unimaginable and horrid suffering going on in the unstable third world nations at this present moment. These days are going to be worse than the suffering going on in many places today?
Wow …
22 “For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect— “”if that were possible””.
So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.
“But in those days, following that distress, … men will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And he will send his angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the heavens.”
Sort of shoots the whole rapture before the tribulation starts right out of the water doesn’t it?

I find one of the most difficult things to figure out is God’s timing so when it comes to the rapture and the tribulation I take a ‘wait and see’ position. Bit of a cop-out I know!

Wendy,
I see many places in the bible that talk about God’s people living through the tribulation. I think that most were hoping that since they are God’ that he would spare them. But God purifies through fire. The tribulation will be the biggest fire of them all, winnowing out the true believers from the false.

v.11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
This doesn't mean we shouldn't plan what we are going to say but rather that we are not to be anxious about what we are going to say.

v.23 So be on your guard; I have told you everything ahead of time.
Doesn't always feel like God has told us everything!!
Perhaps everything we need to know.

v.10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.
God wants all to hear not only to see. "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made" (Romans 1:20).
We need to be part of the gospel going to all nations by praying, donating, going, and living out the gospel.
