Here’s how the study works: Read the chapter mentioned in the heading several times during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for a chapter creates the opportunity to reread it several times and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
For some people it is the hard times in life that keep them from God (v. 13 "in the time of testing they fall away").
For some it is the good times that keep them from God (v.14 "riches and pleasures").
What we need is people with "noble and good" (v.15) hearts. People with noble and good hearts will consider thoughtfully the claims of Christ, will accept his word as truth, and persevere through good times and bad.

v.37 Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them, because they were overcome with fear. So he got into the boat and left.
They asked Jesus to leave. Why would you do that after he healed someone? and then when they did ask him to leave, he did. How scary is that!

v.47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed.
The woman was trembling. Yet she told her testimony of healing anyway. Doesn't matter how we feel, we must testify to God's grace.

v.14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature.
It wasn't that the seeds died but rather that they didn't mature.

v.18 Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what they think they have will be taken from them.”
(From Constable’s Commentary) “One of the principles of spiritual growth is that when a person studies revelation, God gives him or her the ability to understand more truth. However when one does not seek to understand it, God hides further truth from him or her.”

v.45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked.
Jesus knew it was important for this woman to acknowledge her healing for several reasons. One to bolster her own faith and know this was the reason she received healing – not because of anything magical. Another reason was so the people who knew her would know she was healed and was no longer ceremonial unclean.
