Here’s how the study works: Read the chapter mentioned in the heading several times during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for a chapter creates the opportunity to reread it several times and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
v.62 And he went outside and wept bitterly.
We really don't know ourselves very well. We think we are much stronger than we actually are.

v.27 But I am among you as one who serves.
Yet in serving Jesus also confronted, challenged, and convicted people.
Likewise we are also serving others when we tell them truth.

v.9 Where do you want us to prepare for it? they asked.
Jesus had made secret plans which he had not revealed to the disciples. The reason for this is in v.1-6 Judas had agreed to betray Jesus but Jesus wanted to make sure he ate the Passover with his disciples before his arrest (v.15)

v.31-32 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
Jesus didn’t pray that Simon would be released from difficulty but rather that his faith wouldn’t fail.
Satan asking to sift Simon reminds me of Satan asking to test Job.
Satan tries to separate us from the truth, particularly the truth of God’s love (Romans 8:35-39).

v.38 The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.” “That’s enough!” he replied.
Seems to mean that Jesus did not want to discuss this any further. The disciples would realize later what he meant. Sometimes we over explain ourselves when really we just need to let some things go.

v.44 And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.
Sometimes people say we should pray “hard” perhaps what they mean is we should pray more earnestly. Earnest prayer may cause our body temperature to rise and we sweat. Sometimes earnest prayer can cause us to weep.

v.50 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.
(From Constable’s Commentary) "Peter had been sleeping when he should have been praying, talking when he should have been listening, and boasting when he should have been fearing. Now he was fighting when he should have been surrendering."
