This week I was reading about leadership: “Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task” 1 Timothy 3:1 NIV).
Paul is about to outline the qualifications for leadership in our churches and begins by emphasising that what he is saying is trustworthy. Leadership isn’t to be taken lightly. He describes leadership as a “noble task,” that is a good, honest, worthy task. Christian leadership is a worthwhile way of spending our time and efforts. The world may not agree. However, God values the time we spend leading at our churches, whether in less obvious ways or in an up-front capacity.
