Here’s how the study works: Read the chapters mentioned in the heading during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for several chapters creates the opportunity to revisit them and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
21:45 Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.
God had fulfilled his part of the promise now it was up to the Israelites to fulfil theirs – to be faithful to God and act in faith to subdue and possess the rest of the land. Something they never did!!

22:28 Look at the replica of the Lord’s altar, which our ancestors built, not for burnt offerings and sacrifices, but as a witness between us and you.
They weren't really suppose to built altars as memorials (Deut. 12:1-12). It could have become a snare to them. However their intentions were good.
Nevertheless our focus should be on God, not on past achievements, not even on the Bible, but on being in relationship with God.

23:3 You yourselves have seen everything the Lord your God has done to all these nations for your sake; it was the Lord your God who fought for you.
Joshua reminds them of what they already knew but were tempted to forget.
Likewise we need to remind ourselves that is the Lord who fights for us. We can't do it on our own.

24:19 Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the Lord. He is a holy God; he is a jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins."
We are not able to serve the Lord in our own strength, in our own way because God is holy and we need to approach him on his terms. He is a jealous God, that is he sees it as rebellion when lesser gods take his people's devotion. Nor will be forgive their rebellion if it does not lead to repentance.
